End a Recurring Tuition Plan and Review the Remaining Balance

Availability: This guide describes a gated plan-ending workflow. Confirm availability and review the current plan and invoice records before making a change.

When recurring tuition needs to stop, review two things: the plan's end date and the invoices already created. Wonderschool's plan-ending workflow can stop eligible future billing while keeping those existing invoices in the family's account.

What does ending a plan mean?

Where the workflow is enabled, an authorized provider can end an eligible active or paused recurring plan immediately or choose a future end date. A future date uses the provider's local calendar. The change concerns future recurring generation, not a refund or a cancellation of every related invoice.

Existing unpaid and partially paid invoices remain payable. Their amounts, due dates, and recorded payments are not rewritten by the plan-ending action. If an invoice was already generated before the end was saved, it belongs to that existing-invoice history.

Review the two sides of the account

First, review the plan and the intended end date. Then review invoices that already exist. This separates the question 'Will another recurring charge be generated?' from 'Does this family still have a balance?' The answers can be different, and both matter when explaining the change.

Use the exact records in your family communication: “The recurring plan ends on [date]. Invoice [reference] still has a balance of [amount].” Replace the placeholders with reviewed details. Clear wording helps the family understand what stops and what still needs attention.

What this action does not do

Ending a plan is not the same as unenrolling a child. It also does not introduce a prorated final charge or issue a refund. Those are separate questions that should be handled through the relevant workflow and the family's agreed arrangement. A plan currently being processed may need to settle before the change can be made safely.

Frequently asked questions

Will ending a plan void unpaid invoices?

No. Previously created invoices remain payable.

Does a future end date create a partial final period?

Not through this action. The described workflow stops future recurring generation without introducing proration.
