A teacher working across two rooms needs to see the children they are responsible for without treating one room as the whole roster. Wonderschool's mobile room-filter design gives eligible multi-room staff a combined view and the option to focus on one assigned room.
The design introduces a row of room choices above the student list. Teachers see a combined My rooms option, while administrators can see an All rooms label within their authorized scope. Individual room choices include roster counts so staff can understand the view they are selecting.
The combined view is the default when the screen opens. A staff member can then select one room to narrow the list. This is a change in how available student information is presented, not a change to which rooms the person is authorized to access.
The counts represent enrolled students in the relevant roster. They should not be described as a real-time physical headcount, a staffing ratio or proof that every listed child is currently present. Attendance status and operational supervision still require the appropriate records and staff actions.
For example, a staff member may work with children from two assigned rooms during a shared activity. Start with the combined roster, focus on one room when helpful, and choose only the children who took part. Keep the difference between a roster view and an actual attendance record clear.
The described design is for staff with access to two or more rooms. Single-room staff keep a simpler room-scoped experience without an unnecessary filter bar. Parent views are not changed into multi-room staff rosters.
When recording an activity with eligible multi-room controls, review the actual participants across your assigned rooms and narrow the list if useful. Check the selected children before saving. The activity keeps each child's own room; filtering the list does not move a child or change attendance.
No. Filtering changes the visible list. It does not reassign students or staff.
The proposed design resets to the combined view when the screen opens. Do not assume it saves the last selection.
No. Roster counts are not a substitute for current attendance, staff presence or the ratio requirements that apply to the program.
No. It is scoped to eligible multi-room staff and depends on availability in your app version.
