Availability: This is a preview of the multi-room activity-selection design. Ask Wonderschool whether it is available in your app version before relying on these controls.
Before logging an activity, check who actually took part. Wonderschool's multi-room activity selection is designed to let eligible staff review children across their assigned rooms, then choose the intended recipients.
For eligible staff, the Select students experience can show children across their assigned rooms and offer the same visible room filters used in the main student list. Staff can review the combined view or narrow the list to a particular room while choosing the children involved.
The purpose is accurate selection. It is not to expand access to other programs or include children outside the staff member's authorized scope. A visible filter is a navigation tool, not permission to reach a different roster.
Consider a staff member who works with children from two assigned rooms during a shared activity. The relevant question is which children actually participated. A combined selector can help the staff member review those children without treating the currently displayed room as the full set of possible recipients.
Before saving, review the intended selections and the activity details. A broader list makes it easier to find the right child, but it also makes careful selection important. Do not assume that everyone on a combined roster took part.
Selecting children for an activity does not move them between rooms. The proposed design keeps the child's own room associated with the activity record. It is separate from changing room assignments or making an attendance action.
Staff who work in one room retain a simpler selection experience. The additional room bar is aimed at the multi-room workflow, not at adding complexity for family child care programs or other single-room settings.
Practice the workflow with approved demonstration records: open the combined view, select one room, and compare the visible list with the children actually selected. Review the selections and activity details before saving, then confirm the saved record reaches the intended children.
No. The selection concerns the activity. It does not reassign the child to the room currently shown by the filter.
No. Activity selection and attendance are separate tasks. A roster selection is not proof of physical presence or a ratio calculation.
No. The described scope is the staff member's assigned rooms within the authorized program context, not cross-program access.
No. The room bar is designed for staff with two or more accessible rooms in the proposed app experience.
