Change Tuition Billing Frequency While Keeping the Agreed Yearly Value

Availability: This guide describes a gated workflow for eligible recurring plans. Confirm that it is enabled for your program before planning a billing change.

A family asks to move from monthly tuition payments to weekly payments. Before changing the plan, check both the amount of each payment and when the new schedule begins. Wonderschool's interval-editing workflow is designed to keep the agreed yearly value on supported recurring plans.

What changes when the interval changes?

For an eligible plan, the workflow supports weekly, biweekly, twice-per-month, and monthly billing. Those schedules are not interchangeable. Biweekly means a two-week cadence; twice per month follows a different pattern. The amount for each charge must be reviewed alongside the frequency, rather than carried over unchanged simply because the old amount looks familiar.

For supported plans, Wonderschool adjusts fixed-dollar tuition and discount amounts to keep the agreed yearly value the same. Percentage discounts keep the same percentage. Use the family's agreed tuition as the starting point for the change.

The boundary between old and new billing

The change begins at a supported future start of a full billing period. It leaves existing invoices and payment records unchanged and does not create a partial-period adjustment. If the plan is blocked because information is missing or conflicting, resolve that issue before trying another billing arrangement.

Before saving, explain the new payment amount, frequency, and first covered period to the family. A useful summary is: “Your payment schedule is changing. Here is the amount of each payment, the date the new schedule starts, and the care period it covers.” Fill in the figures from the reviewed plan.

Frequently asked questions

Does a smaller charge mean the family pays less overall?

Not necessarily. More frequent charges may have a smaller amount each. Review the annual value and the actual schedule together.

Will existing invoices change?

The described workflow preserves already generated invoices and payment records. It applies the new cadence to eligible future billing.

Can every plan be changed?

No. Availability and plan eligibility apply. If the workflow blocks a change, resolve the underlying information with Wonderschool instead of creating a second overlapping plan.
