Our Teachers

Hello! I am the founder of Shining Bright Nurturing Space Wonderschool. I was inspired to create a Holistic program because it has always been my dream to create a nurturing space that nurtures the whole child. I am a homeschooling parent and have loved watching my son develop over the past 15 years, finding his unique interests in education and beyond. I have 20 years of experience working with young children and collegiate childcare credentials. As a proud member of the US Chamber of Commerce, SBNS is committed to upholding the highest standards of childcare. Contact SBNS to learn more about availability, rates, and pricing.

“I am incredibly impressed with the daycare services provided by shining Bright Nurturing Space. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I love that my children were able to enjoy homemade plant-based meals. They are professional but also genuinely care for the children.”

Laura C. 2020

“The location itself is clean, safe, and child-friendly, with age-appropriate toys and learning materials. The location is situated near a safe, well-maintained playground providing the children with plenty of opportunities to engage in physical activities.”

Ellen P. 2021

“The daily activities at the daycare are engaging and educational. I’m impressed with the appreciation for the learning process. The center places a strong emphasis on learning through exploration, play, and creativity which I believe is crucial for early childhood development. Having my child attend this family daycare has been a wonderful experience. The daycare is consistently tidy, and the toys and play areas are regularly sanitized, which reassures me that my child is in a safe and healthy environment.”

Philosophy

Our onboarding philosophy at Shining Bright Nurturing Space embraces an Inquiry-based, Modern Holistic Approach to honoring the whole child. We are inspired to evolve and expand this holistic approach, recognizing each child as a Divine being with innate awareness and abilities. Our nurturing environment instills values of helping others, love, peace, gratitude, and deeper awareness of self and surroundings. We encourage discernment, free expression, and respect for self, others, and the environment.

Additionally, our philosophy aligns with the family-led student-centered approach of “Trilok School” in Brooklyn, New York, emphasizing respect, devotion to the earth, and compassion for all living beings. We value constructive expression of feelings, resolving differences peacefully, and fostering dialogue and mindful conflict resolution. These principles resonate deeply with our core beliefs at Shining Bright Nurturing Space.

Location

Nestled in Manhattan, New York, Shining Bright values the uniqueness in our city’s diversity and incorporates various educational traditions and approaches to suit the needs of each child individually. Shining Bright seeks to nurture the whole child through exploratory and creative activities. Our daily rhythm consists of creative outlets of expression such as exploration in natural environments, movement, arts and crafts, reading, creating wholefood nourishment, mindfulness, among many other things. This array of expression stimulates children’s minds toward academic studies such as reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park. I also have a wall-enclosed roof deck in my building easily accessible through the elevator. I believe outdoor time is essential in allowing children to get fresh air, recharge, and learn about connecting with nature.

We look forward to getting to know your family and your child’s unique needs.
