Hello! I am Ingrid, the founder of A Magical Place Development. I was inspired to start my own early childhood program due to my passion for working with and teaching young minds. I have been working with children in home based Daycare for the last 11 years and have loved every minute of it.
I have a BA in Marketing and Finance, a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and I am currently working towards a Doctorate in Education. My dissertation research focuses on play-based curriculum and its importance within early childhood classrooms and early intervention.
I have worked with WNET/PBS on facilitating workshops on the topic of screen time and its negative effects on children under 2. I am also a Professional Development Specialist (PDS) credential trainer through NYAEYC and provide training to center based and home based staff in Health and Safety, Child Development Associate (CDA) and numerous early childhood topics. In addition, I also provide training and coaching to various EarlyLearn networks who service to home based providers.
I am happily raising four children who range from 6 to 16 years of age.

Philosophy
At A Magical Place, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.
My program follows a play-based philosophy. I believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. My environment is responsive to the children in our care, and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.
At A Magical Place, we expose children to reading and STEM-based activities on a regular basis.
Location
We’re located in a brownstone right on the corner of Bushwick Ave and Dekalb Ave.
