Hello! I am Shiromi Fernando, the founder of Family Fun Child Care Wonderschool. As a mother, I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have always loved working with kids and enjoy the opportunity to shape children’s lives in a positive way by building a strong foundation for their education.

Shiromi and Lupe are just amazing people. My son could not have been co-raised in better hands. Our son has attended this daycare for well over a year and he loved it since the very beginning (and that means a lot to us because he is particular about who cares for him). Also, his vocabulary has improved tremendously during this time (we talk to him both in Spanish and English at home and he tends to get them mixed up).

Unfortunately we have to move out of town and I am saddened to pull our son out of this daycare, because it is like a second home for him. Philosophy

I want to welcome your family into my home. What I offer to you and your child is much more than just a baby-sitting service. I offer an extended family support system that nurtures all of us. A unique family child care setting that caters to the emotional and development needs of all children. I provide nurturing and loving care in a professional manner.

It is often difficult for working parents to balance all the commitments and responsibilities in their lives. When your child is at my home, you will receive peace of mind knowing that your child is being loved and taken care of much in the same fashion that you yourself would provide. 

I will use my knowledge to offer stimulating, developmental activities when your child is ready for them. They include music and movement, outdoor play, practical life and arts and crafts, pre-reading and pre-math skills, quiet story and sharing times and lots of laughter.   

I offer a unique kind of child care that all parents dream of having their child be a part of during those precious young years. I am the center that takes great pride in my family home environment, where everyone is treated with respect and where communication is priority.

Location

Family Fun Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, bright single family home in the Torrance neighborhood. We are conveniently right off the 405 freeway in a safe, kid-friendly community.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. We also have a strong focus on academics and aim to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in each child. We balance teacher-led activities with free play to provide the best quality early childhood education.

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my backyard. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Family Fun Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
