Our Teachers

Hello! I am Lashaun Merriman, the founder of Merriman Family Child Care. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 21 years of experience working with young children. My program has been a place for many generations of families - and I stay in touch with many of my children as they grow older.

Ms. Lashaun has really become family to me and my boys. She has made a huge impact in my life and my kids'. I really don’t know what I would do without her.

Testimonials

Thank you for being so much more than just a caregiver. I know it will be hard for our son to transition to the new program, but you will always have a special place. I admire you for the love you show to all the children at your daycare.” - Clarice

Philosophy

At Merriman Family Child Care, kids are our number one priority. Our program introduces children to new concepts and ideas. We use learning curriculum to introduce letters, shapes, literacy, music, acting, dramatic play, and dress up. Through exposure to new things, whether food or activities, we are able to expand children’s experiences and help them grow and develop. We truly get on the kids’ level!

Location

Merriman Family Child Care is located in a welcoming, bright single family home in the Carson neighborhood, right near Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Our space is calm and orderly - children have access to numerous resources from blocks to dress up materials.

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Merriman Family Child Care, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
