Miss Melissa Rivera - Miss Rivera is the founder and director of Little Sunshines Early Learning Center and Preschool Holds a Bachelors degree in Humanities, Music major, a Masters degree in Fine Arts from The California Institute of The Arts, and is currently enrolled in an early childhood education associates degree program. From a very young age, I have enjoyed taking care of children - I helped take care of my cousins when we were growing up, and the best memories of my childhood are of us playing outdoors and using our imagination. I have two years of experience as a nanny for infants and toddlers. I was inspired to start my own program because I wish to provide the same safe, joyful environment I had growing up, and create a positive impact in the lives of the students and families I work with.

Philosophy
Our goal is to provide our students with a broader perspective on the world around them through Montessori-inspired, self-directed play and through learning how to communicate in both Spanish and English. We believe that developing student’s creativity and imagination in their early childhood years will provide them with problem-solving skills that will benefit them life-long.
We believe in the limitless potential of children. So far, 100% of our pre-k students that applied have been accepted into LAUSD elementary gifted programs.
The Montessori approach aims to teach kids how to independently learn, trust their capacities, and be nurtured throughout their development. As a hybrid-inspired program, we focus on each child’s self-expression, constant learning, imagination, and helping them explore different kinds of leadership through group play. Outdoor play is key in our program. We believe that by teaching our students both Spanish and English, they will have increased awareness and excitement of discovering the world around them.
We are a year-round program.
Who is Rose? The combination of my parents’ names. (Ro)bert +Toma(Sita) = Rosita. Rosita means little pink. Which I translated to Rose.
