Our Teachers

Hi, I’m Jeannette, the founder and director of Balsz Family Wonderschool. I have 12 years of experience in early childhood education and 27 units of ECE classes. In fact, I am currently enrolled in Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Bachelor’s degree program in Child Development with a concentration in Leadership and Management.

I grew up in a small town in Italy called Torre del Lago, and always wanted to live in a small and friendly neighborhood. Lawndale is just that neighborhood. My neighbors are lovely, and we have just about everything we need within walking distance. It’s the perfect setting for your little ones!

I am mom to two teenagers and in my spare time I love to practice yoga and meditation.

Philosophy

Balsz Family Wonderschool is a warm childcare program with a focus on giving children the experiences they need to flourish as humans. We are deeply invested in social-emotional learning, and due to the low provider to child ratio, we are able to develop deep relationships with each child and family.

Location

We are located in a bright, spacious house in the lovely neighborhood of Lawndale, close to Hawthorne and the 405 Freeway. We are on a quiet residential street.

My program takes up two rooms: one space dedicated to play and learning and the other very large space dedicated to gross motor play. We get daily outdoor time in a small outdoor courtyard.

About our program

At Balsz Family Wonderschool we look to the children for inspiration in how we should spend our time. We try to be as responsive as possible to the moods and interests of the children.

We know that children need to move. We make sure to provide ample opportunities for gross motor play, whether through running, jumping, and climbing outside or stretching, dancing, and doing yoga inside.

Meal time is a special time in our day where we come together to share food. We make a point to set the table, and include small touches like a colorful table cloth and napkins.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/balsz-family-wonderschool-3782/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
