Our Teachers

Owner/Director - Cassie Nickels - I’ve worked in Early Childhood Education since 1997 and have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Educational Leadership from Madonna University and Concordia University. Our teachers will offer a supportive, loving, educational and fun environment for all children in our care, at all times!

Philosophy

We believe… • Children are precious and must receive care from adults who are capable and caring–whose values enable them to be excellent role models. • Children should experience numerous positive learning milestones, leading to an increased sense of competence and independence. • Children’s play is extremely vital to healthy physical development, acceptable social skills, and cognitive growth. • Teachers, drawing upon their training and experience, must create an appropriate educational environment which carefully guides children from one developmental level to another. • Parents contribute to and enhance the quality of care offered at Learning Adventures Child Care.

Location

Our location is conveniently located on Michigan Ave near Gratiot in Marysville and offers a large and safe outdoor play space!

About our program

We will offer a play-based curriculum along with additional extended programs within the first 2 years that will include classes such as ‘Cooking and Gardening’, ‘Phonics’, ‘Music Explorers’, and STEM; age appropriate for children ages 3 – 7 years old. In addition, within the first 1 to 2 years, I’d like to start offering family and me classes along with parent support classes for families that are struggling on raising their children. We will offer an AM snack and PM snack and ask parents to provide a non-refrigerated lunch for their children. We will have 1 infant classroom, 1 toddler classroom, 1 young explorers room, a PS room and a PK room. During the summer months we will offer a school age summer camp as well.

During the day for all of our children we will follow a daily routine including music and movement, welcome time, reading and singing, small group and large group activities. We will focus on preschool and pre-kindergarten lessons during the day hours for our children ages 2 ½ years and older, beginning their preparation for Kindergarten and learning.
