Our Teachers

Sarah Bruzdowski, Childcare provider/Owner

Sarah has been a childcare provider for over 14 years. She first opened her doors in Toledo, OH as Toledo Tot Spot, creating a play-based, family-style atmosphere where children could learn and grow while still feeling at home. From infants to preschoolers, she poured her heart into helping little ones thrive. Taking pride in offering first and foremost peace of mind to her families.

Today, Sarah lives in St. Clair with her husband, teenage son, two dogs, and a cat. Her son is now 16, and her passion for child development has only grown stronger over the years. She is currently pursuing her college degree in child development to deepen her knowledge and expand her vision. Families know Sarah for her personal touch. She builds lasting relationships, keeps in touch long after children move on to school, and even welcomes drop-in visits from past families during the summer.

At Lil’ Sunbeams, Sarah combines her years of experience with her heart for children, offering a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment where play, learning, and faith go hand in hand.

Philosophy

At Lil’ Sunbeams, we believe that children learn best through play. Play is the foundation of learning, creativity, and discovery. Through open-ended exploration, children build problem-solving skills, strengthen their imagination, and develop the confidence to learn at their own pace.

Our program is guided by child development best practices and places a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning. We intentionally nurture children’s ability to recognize emotions, build empathy, practice self-regulation, and develop healthy relationships. Every child is seen as a whole person - mind, body, spirit - uniquely created with purpose and potential.

At the heart of our program is a Christ-centered foundation. We model the love of Jesus by cultivating an atmosphere of grace, kindness, and belonging. Bible stories, songs, and values are woven naturally into our days, reminding children that they are deeply loved by God.

Our goal is to provide more than care - we create a community where children feel safe, cherished, and encouraged to grow into the people God created them to be.

Location

Lil’ Sunbeams Childcare is located in the heart of Saint Clair, near 6th street and Vine street in a quaint little neighborhood. We have easy access to everything from the library, the downtown mall, Palmer Park, and Greig Park.

About our program

Lil’ Sunbeams is a small, home-based program rooted in faith and family. I keep my group small to offer personalized attention and a calm, nurturing environment. While I may not have a large facility, I offer what matters most - connection, safety, learning through play, and heartfelt care.

In our days together, children learn and grow through hands-on play, exploration of natural and everyday materials, and meaningful experiences that spark curiosity. I use my environment and creative resources to keep costs manageable while still offering a rich and engaging program. At the center of it all is a Christ-centered foundation, where children are reminded they are loved, valued, and created with purpose.
