Ms. Ingrid - Owner/Director
The heart of Ingrid’s Childcare Program, is a loving mother of three and grandmother of two with over 25 years of experience in the medical field as a lab technician. Her deep-rooted passion for nurturing children shines through her daily interactions, whether with her own family or the kids in her community. Known for her calm, relatable presence, she creates a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels seen, heard, and safe. Her medical background reinforces her strong focus on health, safety, and attentiveness in every aspect of care.
With a natural gift for understanding children’s personalities, emotions, and learning styles, Ms. Ingrid meets each child where they are developmentally and emotionally. Her goal is to prepare children not just academically, but socially and emotionally for their next steps in life. Through a blend of structure, encouragement, and genuine care, she helps children thrive in a space where they can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
Shianna Williams - Teacher/Caregiver
Meet Shianna, a compassionate and playful caregiver whose teaching approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and real-life experience. Though she doesn’t hold formal teaching degrees, Shianna has gained invaluable insight from raising her niece and nephew—learning how to meet the needs of different children with care and understanding. She believes in creating a safe, nurturing space where kids can be themselves, ask questions, and explore the world around them. With a focus on gentle guidance, clear boundaries, and personalized routines, Shianna supports each child’s emotional and developmental growth. CPR certified and deeply dedicated, her top priority is helping every child feel seen, heard, and free to express who they truly are.
Philosophy
At Ingrid’s Childcare Program, we believe that early learning thrives in a warm, home-like environment where children feel safe, loved, and eager to explore. Our play-based philosophy supports whole-child development, nurturing social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through hands-on experiences that follow each child’s natural curiosity. From infants to preschoolers, we thoughtfully observe and respond to each child’s moods and milestones, ensuring that every child is met where they are with patience, respect, and care.
Our daily activities include reading, writing, tracing, and playful lessons focused on shapes, numbers, colors, and days of the week — all delivered in age-appropriate ways that spark engagement and confidence. Fridays are dedicated to celebrating each child’s weekly progress with fun, joyful activities that build self-esteem and community. We prioritize safety as a core value, actively teaching children what to do in new or unfamiliar situations. Respectful behavior and kind, appropriate language are modeled and encouraged each day. Above all, we aim to be a true “home away from home” — a place where children and families feel excited to return each morning.

We are located in Dearborn Heights, off Telegraph and Ann Arbor.
About our program
At Ingrid’s Child Care Program, we believe that children learn best through play. We create a warm and engaging environment where learning is intentional, joyful, and guided by the unique interests of each child. Potty training can be a challenging stage, and we partner closely with families to support this important transition with patience and care. We also love celebrating milestones—especially birthdays! At Ingrid’s, every child is recognized and celebrated for who they are. We believe that learning is a shared journey, and we embrace the idea that children and adults can grow and learn from one another every day.
