Our Teachers
My name is Tammie Harris. I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. Also, a foster parent as well as an adoptive parent. I’ve always been a nurturer. I love caring for children. I have over 30 years of experience working within the public school system. My journey as a child care provider began when I gained custody of my granddaughter. It was a struggle finding childcare in the beginning, but as time went on, I decided to change careers. Owning my own childcare business has always been a dream of mine. By taking care of my grandchildren granted me the opportunity to do just that. I can now support parents and guardians seeking the same love and care I was seeking in a home away from home environment.
Testimonials
My village is no longer here. I miss that more than anything. Since I’m blessed with the opportunity to raise my grandchild, I found the best alternative was to help others who needs that support system.
Philosophy
Our philosophy focuses on providing a safe, nurturing, and loving environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We emphasize a secure, nurturing atmosphere that encourages children to engage, explore, and discover through play-based learning, fostering the development of their fine and gross motor skills.
Location
I live in a single family home located in the downriver area. My subdivision is off Pennsylvania Road between Inkster and Beech Daly. My surrounding schools districts include; Taylor, Woodhaven-Brownstown, Romulus, Trenton, Flat Rock and Southgate School Districts. My community is very diverse, friendly, helpful and most importantly, we look out for one another. I love Halloween because we come together as a community to make it fun and exciting for the kids and families. We also, share info on our Facebook page to help one another or share our hobbies and creative ideas.
About our program
As my journey begins, I will offer pick-up and drop off services to and from surrounding schools as well as picking up students when they are misbehaving or ill. We will celebrate each others birthdays. We will explore and learn different cultures by experiencing and celebrating their foods and activities. We will sometimes have volunteers come and share their stories and awareness as well. We will share our experiences with parents and give them the opportunity to partake in activities. Hopefully bringing knowledge and information to them.
