Our Teachers

My name is Tammie Harris. I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. I’ve also fostered and adopted children in the foster care system. I have over 30 years of experience working within the public school system as a Administrative Assistant as well as other titles. My journey as a child care provider began when I struggled to find childcare for my grandchild who I was caring for at the time. That was a difficult time for me. I felt the best choice for me was to change careers. Owning my own childcare business has always been a dream of mine and it could have not come at a better time. Not only was it the perfect opportunity for me, come to find out, it was a god sent for other parents and guardians in the same situation as me. My career change has given me a whole new outlook on life. They say it takes a village and I was becoming part of a village to those who were seeking a home away from home environment.

Testimonials

I grew up with a large family. I was the oldest out of 5 children. My mom was a single parent and I was her help from time to time. When I started having children of my own, my mom became my support. My kids are all grown now, but I found myself in a situation where I had to raise and support my grandchildren because of unforeseen circumstances. Although my main support system is no longer with us, I’m blessed with the opportunity to help others who need the same support I was seeking.

Philosophy

Our philosophy focuses on providing a safe, nurturing, and loving environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We encourage children to engage, explore, and discover through play-based learning, while fostering and developing their fine and gross motor skills.

Location

I live in a single family home located in the downriver area. My subdivision is off Pennsylvania Road between Inkster and Beech Daly. My surrounding schools districts include; Taylor, Woodhaven-Brownstown, Romulus, Trenton, Flat Rock and Southgate. My community is very diverse, friendly, helpful and most importantly, we look out for one another. I love Halloween time. This is when our subdivision come together as a community to make it fun and exciting for the kids and families. We also have a Facebook page where we share helpful tips, encouragement, hobbies and creative ideas.
