Our Teachers

Hello! I am Mayra, the director and founder of Max and Lulu’s Daycare and Preschool. I first worked in Mexico in banking administration, but soon realized that it was not something that gave my life any happiness at all! My true passion is working with children, so I decided to study Early Childhood Education at San Jose City College. When I look at their happy faces and see how I can help them, that is truly what makes me happy! I have 17 years of experiencing in this field through raising my own children and working in different child care centers to care for infants, toddlers and preschool aged children.

I am a mother of two children, my daughter Chelsea who is 17 and my son Leonardo who is 14 years old. I have two degrees, my first in Business Administration, and the second in Early Childhood Education. My first language is Spanish and I am so proud to teach children in both English and Spanish in my program!

Soy una madre de familia con dos hijos una niña Chelsea de 17 años y Leonardo de 14 años formamos una familia de solo 3 miembros en casa y de nacionalidad mexicana mi primera lengua es español con 2 carreras profesionales una en administración de empresas y otra en educación infante.

Philosophy

Our philosophy at Max and Lulu’s is to provide innovative child care and early education in an environment of love and respect. We want to provide solutions to families looking for high quality education by offering a creative curriculum according to the individual needs of each child. Every day we strive to give a safe environment of trust, security, joy, learning and - above all - love!

Nuestro filosofia es a proveer cuidado infantil innovador y educación temprana en un ambiente de amor y respeto. Queremos proveer soluciones a las familias ofrecer un currículum creativo de acuerdo alas necesidades individuales de cada niño. Cada dia, nos esforzamos por dar un ambiente seguro de confianza, seguridad, alegría, aprendizaje y sobretodo amor!

Location

We are located in San Jose in a warm and welcoming apartment. Our care environment has been created with children in mind with areas where they can explore, learn, and grow. Please see our program photos for more! We are excited to show your our daycare space!

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Max and Lulu’s Daycare and Preschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/max-and-lulu-s-daycare-and-preschool-5901/apply – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
