Our Teachers

Hello! I am Elis, the founder of Bee Kids Childcare Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. Prior to opening my own program I worked for 4C’s and the food program. I had the opportunity to visit countless programs in my area and the lack of quality inspired my to open my own program.

I am in the process of taking additional classes to learn more about working with kids. I currently have my Associate Teacher’s permit and am in the process of getting my Bachelors. It is important for me to always be learning!

Philosophy

At Bee Kids Wonderschool, we believe in providing high quality childcare services and education in an enriching and stimulating learning environment. This facilitates the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and moral development of each child. Children learn through interaction, play and socializing. I seek to stimulate and develop children’s creative thinking and problem solving skill through both teacher and child directed activities.

Note: this program is currently under construction to build a beautiful outdoor classroom. Stay tuned for new pictures once this in complete :)

Location

Bee Kids Childcare Wonderschool is located in a bright, warm single family home in the Willow Glen neighborhood.

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Bee Kids Childcare Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

About our program

My goal is to provide all of the children in my care a clean, safe, and loving environment. A home where they can play and learn to discover their abilities, skills, relying on appropriate material for their learning and development according to their capabilities.

I believe in the value of both a structured and flexible schedule. Structured activities will include the use of curriculum, regular reading times, arts and crafts, musical activities outdoor play and free play. The most important priority is to have fun. Each child has their own personality and should be treated as an individual. Children feel comfortable growing and learning at their own pace. This environment will build self-esteem. Positive attitude and pro-social behavior.

My program emphasizes in the interaction between the child and provider; the interaction between the child and peer of a mix of ages group. This type of environment helps children learn independence, self-control and trust while still respecting others. I encourage the children to make decision, use reasoning skills, and practice listening.

Fitness & Exercise

At Bee Kids Childcare we focus on incorporating movement and exercise into our daily schedule. We believe that children need access to opportunities to move, explore and play. We even do a spin on “crossfit training” where children are given the opportunity to do obstacle courses and practice their motor skills.

Circle Time

We implement circle time daily. Circle time is an essential activity used in school like settings to help children develop positive relationships and the tools to engage and listen to others. It also helps to build verbal skills.

Arts & Crafts

Arts and craft projects involve moving the hands and fingers. These movements involve fine motor skills and improve the overall muscle strength and control over movements. When your child colors or does a craft project, his motor skills gradually increase.

Dancing/Singing

Through dance, children develop spatial awareness, become less clumsy and pay more attention to others sharing their space. Children struggling with language can express their feelings with immediacy through dance and movement.
