Richere Monima
Richere started working with young children in high school through a Regional Occupation in Education Program where she assisted a kindergarten class in 2007. From there she has worked for the City of Downey and the Downey Unified School District in Los Angeles planning and teaching lessons for various children’s programs. Her experiences working with a variety of age groups lead her to discover a particular interest in early childhood development, thus she became a preschool teacher at a French-English Preschool school, L’ Heritage Francais. She eventually moved to San Jose in 2014 to complete her Bachelors degree in Child Development at San Jose State University.
Since moving to the Bay Area she has worked as a head preschool teacher at Little Prodigy Preschool in Mountain View. In this position, she has designed creative curriculums with heavy emphasis on science, reading, art and discovery. Along with developing strong bonds with the children, she also formed close relationships with the parents of the children in her care. She supplied the parents with the latest research in child development as well as parenting tips and tools in how to keep track of developmental milestones and promote growth both inside and outside of the classroom. She has extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of personalities, temperaments and cultural differences. She has assisted in potty training over 60 toddlers!
The recent birth of her daughter has inspired her to start a childcare center of her own so that she may provide higher quality services to a smaller classroom size. She is excited to have created an environment that is supportive of individual needs, that allows learning to occur naturally and in accordance with each child’s own pace and interests.
Richere is consistently working on her own professional and educational growth to provide parents with the most up-to-date research in child development and parenting practices.

Philosophy
Children have an innate sense of wonder and urge to explore. Following this natural impulse can be the best way for them to learn, when provided with the right environment. Blossoms Childcare uses this child-centered approach to incorporate the children’s personal interests into a themed curriculum of integrated academics.
Blossoms Childcare is a center rich in activities where the children’s curiosity leads them to eagerly participate in learning Language Arts, Math, Science, and Creative Expression through Art, Dance and Music– all at their own pace.
While we do expose them to a variety of academic topics, we believe that early childhood should, more importantly, be about experiences that teach independence, communication, and empathy. Through play, children are taught self-help skills that encourage confidence. They are presented with opportunities for insightful discussions that promote critical thinking. Above all, we help children understand their emotions and that of others so they may learn the best way to express how they feel and how to best respond to others’ feelings. We show them genuine care and love which brings about the compassion within themselves.
We teach through modeling desirable behavior. This means we show the children the respect that we would like to receive in turn. Opportunities to model respectfulness often occur during moments that call for disciplinary action. We do not engage in any discipline of a punitive nature. Instead, children are led through two-way discussions about behavior, motives and emotions until an understanding is reached and problem solving skills are practiced.
Finally, it is important to us to form a partnership with the parents in order for each child to reach their full potential. We want to help the parents track the children’s development by updating them on upcoming milestones and skills that we are currently practicing. Information about how to continue supporting the child’s development at home will be readily available. Every child grows at their own pace and this aspect of the program will cater to them individually.
Location
Blossoms Childcare is located at the edge of the Blossoms Hill neighborhood of San Jose– where beautiful, scenic hills lie just beyond the backyard. The children will be spending their day in a comfortable home with a large room dedicated to their learning experiences. The layout and toys are chosen and designed to maximize their desire to participate, learn and have fun; plus it offers a lot of natural light. The children also have abundant opportunity to play outside, whether rain or shine. A big sheltered patio leads out to a large grassy lawn with play structures, and plenty of space for a wide variety of outdoor play. There is also a garden created for the children’s use and a designated sand-and-water play area. It is a space that invites children to explore and play.
