Our Teachers
Miss Krystal is a graduate of California State University East Bay with a degree in Human Development with an early childhood development option. She has started working with young children as a daycare assistant after college for several months while going back to school at Merritt College for additional classes to earn her Child Development Teacher permit. From there she has worked part-time jobs as an after school daycare teacher and preschool aide before moving to San Jose, CA.
She has worked a floater teacher for about four years working with a variety of age groups until she took a short break to work as a nanny before going back to work as a full time preschool teacher until September 2021 going back to work as a nanny and at couple of agencies before opening her own Wonderschool, a dream she has longed for with her 14 years of experience in childcare.
Krystal is consistently working on her own professional and educational growth by going to workshops and also to provide parents with home resources to continue and develop their child’s growth.
Philosophy
My program follows a play-based philosophy. I believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. My environment is responsive to the children in our care, and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.
About our program
The classroom is divided into several learning centers that are specifically tailored to children 3-5 years old. Our centers address development in gross and fine motor skills, language and early literacy skills, creative arts, and social and emotional development.
Our Learning Centers
Circle Time Area—this center is the heart of our program where we will meet for ABCs, the numbers, colors, the weather, a theme of the week and a story
Cozy Library - an abundance of soft and cozy pillows, blankets, puppets and stuffed animals make this center the perfect place to snuggle up with a book or just take a break from the action. The library is stocked with a rotation of books, mostly based on a monthly theme.
Dramatic Play - large soft blocks and a set of wooden unit blocks are the mainstays in this center, accompanied by a rotation of appropriate complementary toys.
Imaginative Play - the mainstays in this center are our kitchen and dolls. Our dolls are an excellent tool in supporting potty training as well as new sibling adjustment. A large variety of rotating items in this center allows toddlers to explore their emerging need for pretend play and imitation.
Learning classroom
Outdoor Play - a brand new fenced in play structure is located directly behind our building which we will use daily. We will periodically tote a variety of push/ride toys, balls, tunnels and tents, and other outdoor toys with us to play with as well.”
