Our Teachers
Hi! I am Maria Medrano, the founder of Tree House Kids Wonderschool 2. I am a proud mother of five and grandmother to six, and I have 20 years experience working with children – both as a nanny, and as an assistant at a beautiful family child care program run by my son and daughter-in-law! I care deeply about children, and I was finally inspired to start my own child-care program in Silver Lake. I look forward to meeting your family!
Philosophy
At Tree House Kids 2 Wonderschool, it is our goal to go beyond academic aims of early literacy and numeracy and set broad learning and development goals through activities that let children be children.
Please note that my license is pending. If you choose to enroll at my program, your child will not be able to start until after I receive my license.
Location
Tree House Kids 2 Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the Silverlake neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.
At Tree House Kids 2 Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
About our program
Our program focuses on the development of the whole child, beyond just academic knowledge. We believe early education, love, and health are vital to a child’s lifelong success. This is why at Tree House Kids 2 Wonderschool, we treat everyone like family.
Our role as providers is to guide and support the children in what they want to explore and learn. When given ample support and direction, children will far exceed any and all expectations! We offer a high teacher-to-child ratio and our staff are sensitive and responsive to the children.
In addition to our enriching environment, stimulating play-based activities, and age-appropriate materials, we also provide healthy meals and snacks. We offer many opportunities for active outdoor and indoor play with sufficient time dedicated for the children to rest as well.
