Hello! My name is Edna Sanchez and I am, the proud founder and co-owner of Sanchez Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program 24 years ago in the area of Atwater village, and throughout the years I saw the need for high-quality care and early school readiness in my community. I have 35 years of experience as a preschool teacher and an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education. I love working with young children and truly love my profession.
Hi! My name is Katherine Sanchez, I’m a Preschool Teacher and co-owner of Sanchez Wonderschool. I grew up watching my mother (Edna) educate and care for young children and fell in love with the profession. I followed in her footsteps and I am proud to say that I am also a Preschool Teacher that enjoys her profession. I obtained an AA Degree in Science of Early Childhood Education specializing in the ages of 0-8 years, and am currently working towards a Doctorate Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education.

Philosophy
Our philosophy at Sanchez Wonderschool is centered around providing academic preparation, aiming to equip students with a well-rounded skill set including Spanish proficiency. In addition, we believe in nurturing children’s inner brilliance through a diverse range of activities in our spacious outdoor play area and well-stocked indoor classroom. Our focus is on creating a safe and engaging environment where children can explore their interests and unleash their full potential.
Location
Sanchez Wonderschool and Preschool readiness program is located in a welcoming, charming single family home in the Highland Park neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and nature area (for discovering nature and science concepts).
Children will have outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.
At Sanchez Wonderschool, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play at the same time they prepare for school.
About our program
We are not just a Childcare facility. But we are also a language immersion early preschool readiness program that prepares young infants and toddlers for school. We provide a Bilingual preschool level curriculum adjusted to infants and toddlers so that they can meet there mile stones and excel further. During the process at the age of 2 we also provide a potty training program that fully prepares our children for preschool.
We strongly believe in learning through play during the first 2 years of age and we apply to our program observations and parent conferences. Our screenings focus on observing the development of our children and helping reinforce their developmental stages and milestones. Cognitive, Language and Social Skills, Social Emotional. Fine and Gross Motor Skills.
