Our Teachers

Hello! I am Alicia Torres, the founder of Torres Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 20 years of experience working with kids of all ages.

I love studying and learning. In addition to learning from my years of experience as a child care provider, I also received my Associate’s degree in Child Development from East Los Angeles College in 2013. I am a certified Teacher Supervisor. I keep up-to-date with early childhood education and learn each day how to be the best teacher I can be.

Philosophy

At Torres Family Child Care Wonderschool, we work hard to build a strong foundation for children so that they are prepared for school and develop into well-rounded community members. Our goal is to work together with parents to reinforce good habits and values while fostering the physical, emotional, social, cognitive and creative growth of all children.

Our space is thoughtfully designed with learning areas and high-quality, developmentally-appropriate materials. We are also part of the Early Head Start program which is a marker of excellence for an in-home child care. We provide an environment where children feel free to learn and explore in a safe and welcoming space.

Location

Torres Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a spacious single family home in the Atwater Village neighborhood.

Children will have plenty of time in fresh air every day in our outdoor area filled with safe play equipment and activities. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
