Hello, My name is Latoya Smith. I have worked for SunShine Day Care for 20+ years, of that, 11 as director and Pre-K teacher, 6 as owner and personnel manager, 4 years as an infant/ toddler teacher. I moved to North Texas in 2018 and decided to open a home daycare in 2023. I am CPR and 1st Aid certified.

To all the moms out there, if you’re looking for a daycare for your child to go to, Sunshine daycare is the place to be. Ms. Latoya is literally the BEST. Not even two days before I had to go back in office for work, a family friend could no longer watch my 6 month old son and I was freaking out on who would take care of my baby. I went to a daycare group and found Ms. Latoya. I reached out to her and she responded immediately ready to help! She has an inhome daycare and has been doing this for over 24 years. We did a tour the next day and it was everything I could ever imagined for my baby. Her home is beautiful, in a safe and wonderful neighborhood, super clean & neat and has so many activities for the kids to do! She also has an app where she documents his feedings, nap time, and the activities they do which warms my heart to see while I’m at work. I always say it’s very important on who watches our kids because they are helping us raise them while we are away at work and I can honestly say I’m extremely blessed and grateful that she is helping me raise my son! Philosophy

Our goal is to provide a “Home Away From Home” where parents can be confident that their child will be safe, loved, and nurtured in excellence.

We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.

Location

We are in the heart of Frisco, 1.5 miles from Frisco Historic Downtown Square. 5 minutes to Dallas North Tollway. We are less than 1.8 miles from two major Hospitals ( Medical City and Texas Health).

About our program

OUR MISSION SunShine provides a center based education in a smaller more personable atmosphere. Preparing our little ones for kindergarten, taking the extra care in every area of each child’s development, social-emotional, speech, and academically.

OUR PHILOSOPHY The purpose of SunShine Day Care is to provide an excellent, child centered, early development program where each child can develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially within a loving atmosphere. SunShine Day Care supports and encourages our children’s desire to be a life-long learner.

2. Tour our program Come see what makes SunShine Day Care unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application If you’re interested in enrolling, submit an application by selecting Apply to enroll. If this option if not available, you can message the program director. Please do not apply to enroll until you have set up a tour and visited the program.
