Our Teachers

Program Director - Samantha Andersen I’m a mom of two wonderfully strong-willed children (a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services (2013); between my degree, the work I did in college, my work as a nanny after college, and raising my children, I have 13 years of experience teaching and caring for children. I’ve been running an editing and graphics design business from home for the last few years. But, as my children have gotten older, I’ve struggled to find quality care that my anxious mama’s heart could trust. So, I created Patient Bear Daycare with the hope that I can be that place parents can feel secure leaving their children. It has been something I’ve felt called to do for a while now, and I’m so excited to get back to my roots and the work I’m most passionate about.

Philosophy

Patient Bear Daycare is committed to creating a safe, warm, loving environment for children where they can learn and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. We want to help your child increase their confidence, and self-esteem by treating them as unique individuals and allowing them to express themselves in a variety of facets. We strive to make your child’s time at daycare the best experience it can be for them as well as you, the parents.

We are committed to supporting families by maintaining open communication and encouraging parental involvement in our programming and care activities. Our objective is to care for your child the same way you would.

In programming activities for the children, we follow the Playing Preschool Curriculum created by Busy Toddler, which follows a play-based learning philosophy. With read-alouds, easy activities, play, and conversations, the Playing Preschool Program is designed to help children grow and learn in a fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate way. We strive to prepare your children for their early school years by exposing them regularly to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, name recognition, and new vocabulary.
