Our Teachers

Our Staff… Hi, I’m Kathy Wren, the Owner/Operator of Aunt Kathys Daycare. We loved every minute we got to spend with our children and grandchildren growing up. Also, watching our niece’s & nephews whenever we could, and to them I was always Aunt Kathy. Watching them helped inspire me to start my own daycare.
I was also an Oregon State Park Ranger, at the Depoe Bay Whale center on the Oregon Coast. I was dealing with children on a daily basis in this position and worked with the junior ranger program. I have always enjoyed spending time with children and loved helping them learn new things. My husband Phil is retired and is now my much-appreciated helper with the daycare. I call him my baby whisperer.
I have been a registered provider for approximately 12+ years, at this same location. When I decided to become a registered provider, I have kept up my education with a variety of early learning classes and trainings. I really enjoy the long-term relationships we have made with the daycare families over the years. I am still in contact with many of my original DC children from years ago. I plan on continuing the same type of quality, loving care. That makes the children want to come back.

Philosophy

We provide a Safe, Loving environment where the children can learn by doing, exploring and working together to solve problems. We encourage sharing and helping others. We spend a lot of time outside depending on weather and air quality. The children always love helping with the garden each year and observing as it grows. I am always looking for teaching/learning opportunities in everything we do.

Location

Convenient SW Redmond location within walking distance of new Quartz Neighborhood Park.
Safe neighborhood with low traffic. Shady fenced back yard with large swing set/play structure. Nice lawn area to play on & garden area the kids enjoy helping with.

About our program

At Aunt Kathy’s Daycare, we strive to provide a Safe and Loving environment for all children. I have always wanted this to be a place where children want to come back to. I try to have a variety of fun activities available for the different ages and abilities of the children.
