Our Teachers

Hello! I am Rosemary Alejo, the founder of Rosemary Group Family Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 12 years of experience working with young children. I speak mainly Spanish, as my English is not very strong! But my children speak English and help me translate anything I need assistance with.

Philosophy

Rosemary Group Family Wonderschool is a Spanish immersion daycare serving families in the heart of Washington Heights. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide a caring environment that makes all children feel welcomed and at home.

Location

Rosemary Group Family Wonderschool is located in a cozy, warm apartment in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

We are conveniently located right on the corner of the 157th Street stop off the 1 train and a short walk from the 155th Street stop off the A/C trains. We are also just off of the M4/M5 bus routes!

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at our local park!

About our program

Hola! We are a Spanish immersion program, meaning we speak Spanish most of the time during our day. Research shows that children who attend child care programs with multiple languages spoken have a better ability to monitor their immediate environment compared to monolinguals. They exhibit more mental flexibility and a stronger ability to switch between tasks (also known as ‘working memory’).
