Our Teachers

My name is Theresa Whitney, I go by Tess most of the time. My family and I live in Reno NV. I have 3 girls of my own, Elise, Natalie, and Josette. I also have 2 step boys Julius, and Edwin that are identical twins. I use to work in one of the most dangerous men’s prison in California. When I was 3 months pregnant with Natalie I was assaulted and the doctor was sure we were going to lose her. This was unbearable to me so I quit my career as a CO and became a stay at home mom. I wasn’t sure how I would do with being home everyday, to be honest I went stir crazy. After having Natalie I had a hard time going back to work leaving her was to much at the time. Eventually I got a job and went back to work, but the amount we paid for Natalie’s daycare only left me with 100 dollars left of each paycheck, it just wasn’t worth it. Than my husband and I got pregnant again and I really needed to figure out a job or income to help my husband carry the financial load. So we put our heads together and decided our house is always filled with kids. We constantly have other kids over because everyone loves being with Mrs. Tess. So my daughter Elise and my husband said that I should run a daycare, that I could keep my 2 little girls home with me, make a good income, and enjoy the work I love to do. Although I don’t have much experience in child care facilities, other than church nurseries and raising 5 kids of my own, I feel the experience can come from simply just being a parent yourself. I have taken many online courses in many different childcare categories and have certified in all of them. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I want to provide a fun and out of this world learning experience for kids. I want to teach them that outer space is the limit for anything they want to do in life.

About our program

Here at Little Wookies Clubhouse we are a play based daycare. We will be learning inside the home and outside the home with field trips to museums and out door gardening. We will be taking kids from 3 months old to 10 years old. We will be providing a daily lunch along with 3 snacks a day. For our Little Wookies that are potty training we will provide a fun learning system to help them achieve that goal. We will be operating Monday-Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. We will be accepting Children’s Cabinet and providing a 15% Military discount. Thanks to all who serve in advance.
