Irene Whelan, MEd
Program Director and Lead Teacher
Irene Whelan’s passion for teaching began when tutoring in college while receiving her Bachelor’s in Speech and Hearing Science. Her related experience is in teaching English, research and most recently in child behavior therapy/intervention. She sees the great benefit of working with children in small group settings as it allows the opportunity to create individualized learning plans and provides the time to focus on improving students’ particular areas of deficit. She received her Master’s Degree of Education specializing in Behavior Analysis in August 2022. The program taught her how to understand the psychology behind early childhood development and provided a scientific approach to designing and implementing effective IEPs (individual education plans.) She plans to use her education and experience to help Tiny Tensai students get an early start on unleashing the exceptional learner within.
Windy Wilson, MEd
Teacher
Windy Wilson is currently a state certified teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in education, a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, and an Associate degree in Chemical Engineering Technology. Her teaching background is mostly comprised of work with elementary school students, although she has extensive experience with a wide variety of learners ranging from kindergarten to post-graduate levels at both private and public institutions. In addition to her professional work, Windy also spent several years homeschooling her own children, developing and tailoring a curriculum to meet their individual needs. Because this homeschool experience particularly impacted her perspective on the educational success of children who receive academic and life skills instruction in a small, structured setting that incorporates individual learning styles while providing a safe and fun social environment, she understands the importance of the role Tiny Tensai will have on the future of its young scholars. Moreover, she is highly enthusiastic about working with them and fostering a love of and appreciation for learning.

About our program
Tiny Tensai provides early STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) exposure to set students up for success by getting them interested in more challenging subjects at an early age. This program will give children a head start on critical thinking and problem-solving. Early acquisition of these skills will provide the foundation needed to excel upon entering grade school.
In a small group setting, individual learning deficits can be addressed to ensure a smooth transition into kindergarten. Teachers will meet with parents to discuss any specific target goals they may have for their child. The Tiny Tensai program will familiarize students with following rules and routines to prepare them for their first year of school.
