Our Teachers

Hello and welcome to my Wonderschool page! I am Dedra Robinson, owner and operator of Dedra’s Home Daycare. I have many years of experience in childcare and preschool teaching. I have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, CPR and first aid trained and many hours of additional training. I opened my home to be a safe place for children to grow, learn and explore in 2016 and continue to offer safe, reliable care for families. I have 4 adult children and 3 wonderful grand babies :) I worked for Carlsbad Head Start from 2004 to 2015 before moving to Clovis. I have also worked for MECA Therapies; I believe that learning begins early and am a huge advocate for children being able to have the right tools to help them grow and develop to their full potential.

Philosophy

My mission is to provide a safe fun loving environment that encourages a child to grow and develop to their full capacity. I will provide educational learning activities that are developmentally appropriate to engage each child’s unique learning style. I will encourage each child to engage socially with their peers and myself and help develop an emotional bond to those that will assist in the development of lifelong learning skills. I will respect and support each child’s culture, beliefs and values to promote meaningful interactions between family, child and provider. Their physical and intellectual skills will be challenged on a daily basis to encourage continued learning throughout their environment

I believe that children learn best through play.

Each child develops uniquely.

Children learn best when they are engaged in hands on activities that builds on pre-acquired skills.

I believe that parents are a child’s first and foremost important educators.

I believe that children strive in an environment that supports and encourages the child’s home language and will do my best to incorporate such into daily activities.

A child develops respect for self and other’s when he/she has positive role models.
