Our Teachers
My name is Shameka Patton, and I’m the owner and provider at Marvelous Whiz Kids Playgroup. My background includes working as a substitute teacher and providing care for people and families since 2004. I’m also continuing my studies in early childhood education.
I created this program to give children a caring place to learn, play, and grow. I use hands-on activities, early literacy, and steady daily routines to support children’s development and school readiness. My daughter works with me, and volunteers help support the program.
Philosophy
Marvelous Whiz Kids Playgroup believes children learn best through caring relationships, hands-on play, and meaningful everyday experiences. Our program provides a nurturing environment where children can build confidence, practice social skills, explore early literacy, and develop at their own pace. We value each child’s strengths and work with families to support children’s growth, independence, and readiness for school.
Location
Marvelous Whiz Kids Playgroup is located in a residential neighborhood in Clovis, with nearby schools and family-friendly community destinations. Arts Academy at Bella Vista is nearby, and Hillcrest Park offers playgrounds, picnic areas, and a zoo. Clovis Area Transit provides on-demand, curb-to-curb rides within city limits; it does not have fixed routes or bus stops.
About our program
Marvelous Whiz Kids Playgroup is a licensed family home in Clovis offering a caring place for preschool and school-age children to learn and grow. Children take part in hands-on play, early literacy, and age-appropriate activities that support social skills, confidence, and school readiness. We offer care day and night, serve meals and snacks, and accept New Mexico Child Care Assistance.
