The last nine years I have worked as a certified and licensed occupational therapy assistant providing pediatric Occupational Therapy Services. I have learned that building a child’s developmental foundation starts with strong self-regulation skills. These specific skills are needed to build your child’s cognitive processes, engage the mind, absorb and apply information more readily. In addition, by providing a loving, secure environment, children have the opportunity to explore their world more confidently. And with this confidence, children engage all of their senses in discovering their world making this a pleasant adventure for both child and families.
Philosophy
Our mission is to provide a loving environment with sensory rich experiences that promote learning by focusing on four areas of development including self-regulation skills, social skills, motor coordination, and cognitive development through modeling and exploration. The Active Bodies Focused Minds Childcare LLC sensory gym is in addition/combination with the childcare services and is designed to build a strong foundation for the children’s development with age appropriate child specific activities that are challenging yet achievable and increase the engagement of the child’s mind while regulating their body. We strive to provide a high quality early learning environment that supports our families, focuses on building a strong foundation for emotional regulation, provides healthy well rounded meals, and plenty of opportunities for social interaction and sensory rich experiences.
