Amanda Buckingham, Lead Teacher
Amanda graduated from the University of New Mexico with a dream to work with kids. She spent a couple of years working with 7th graders in the APS school district before realizing her dream of having her own in home childcare program after the birth of her son. She worked as a lead teacher in a childcare center throughout college and was also a director of a center right out of college for about 5 years. Her favorite thing about teaching young children is developing relationships with the kiddos and their families. She believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow her to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years.
Philosophy
At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers inspired by the learning through play philosophy. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together. We believe that when children are truly engaged with their environment, magic happens. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers do this by creating a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.
Location
We’re in the Glenwood Hills south neighborhood; on a tucked away quiet street in a single family home. With easy to access to transit, everything from hikes in the foothills or one of the many playgrounds located in Linear park are just a short walk away.
