Our Teachers

Teresa Ficklen, Director/Owner

Teresa graduated from The University of Memphis in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Education degree. In 2009, she earned her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Union University. She has always had a passion for children. She spent 17 years teaching elementary education in Memphis, TN. For the past 3 years, she has been working on her dream of opening her own in home private preschool for ages 3-5. Her favorite thing about what she does is helping little people learn and grow socially and emotionally. She believes that small class size will allow her and her team to provide each child individual support that will lead to academic outcomes and positive emotional development.

Philosophy

At Lewisburg Preparatory Academy, we embrace a hands-on approach to learning, allowing young children to explore and experience the world around them. This philosophy encourages curiosity, fosters a deeper understanding of their environment, and lays a strong foundation for their holistic growth and development.

Location

We are in the neighborhood of Hernando, MS; on a no outlet street in a single family home. We are located south of 269 not far from Cockrum and Olive Branch.

About our program

At Lewisburg Preparatory Academy in Hernando, children thrive in a caring atmosphere where they learn through engaging experiences. Our program fosters independence and emotional growth, setting the stage for successful early education. We stand out for our hands-on approach, ensuring each child receives personalized attention and opportunities to explore and learn.

Admissions

Admission Process The academy takes a careful approach to the admissions process because being part of the LPA family is a significant commitment and a valuable partnership. We seek to ensure that both the school and the family share a mutual dedication to the success and well-being of each student.

Application Please complete the initial “Pre-Registration” form, which helps us get to know your family better and understand your interest in our school. Be sure to click on the correct link when accessing the form. If you encounter any issues with the link or have trouble completing the form, please contact Ms. Teresa at [email protected].

Please note that filling out a form does not guarantee enrollment.

Schedule a Visit A scheduled visit is a crucial step in the selection process. After we receive your completed paperwork, we will determine whether to proceed with an in-person tour. It is important that your child attends the tour with you, as meeting them is an essential part of the enrollment process. If your child cannot attend on the scheduled day, you will need to reschedule.

Enrollment Payment - If your child has been accepted into LPA, you will receive a registration link. Please do not send payment or fill out enrollment form unless you have received an invitation to enroll. The registration fee, enrollment deposit, and registration paperwork are due immediately. Until the these are received, your child’s spot is not secured.
