Our Teachers

Vanessa Washington, Owner and Director Vanessa graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2012 with an Liberal Arts degree and in 2009 with an Associate of Arts degree in Elementary Education. In 2023, after working 9 years in child care she realized her dream of having her own in home childcare program. Her favorite thing about what she does is developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow her and her team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years.

Testimonials

You are THE BEST! I love you so much for what you’re doing for my children!

Philosophy

We believe that every child has the capacity to learn. Once a child is placed in an environment conducive to learning, he or she will thrive. “We are all super heros in some way.” By providing child care services to young children, some of our super powers have been ignited. It is our belief that children learn best when they are nurtured properly and made to feel as if they can conquer the world.

Location

We’re in the Snowden area of Southaven; in a single family home. With easy access to everything from the Library to Snowden Park. We’re a few blocks away from the Silos and the Tanger Outlet. We’re just a few minutes from Hwy 69 on-ramp, yet in a peaceful, quiet location if you’re looking to commute from the Hernando or Memphis- a parent’s dream!

About our program

Children learn by play. More than half of the developmental skills we’ve witnessed children acquire and master have been learned vicariously through play. It is our desire to see children excel in all areas. Many children thrive emotionally, socially, intellectually, physically and spiritually while engaging in a play to learn atmosphere. By doing so creativity is encouraged and children progress in the process.
