Arica Murphy, Program Director

Arica graduated from Alexandria Technical & Community College with a Business Management degree. After starting a family of her own, Arica learned of the extreme shortage of childcare and the importance of early childhood education, so she decided to open a licensed family childcare program. Arica values a small program ratio, which allows her the ability to focus on each child’s needs and development. She is currently working on obtaining a Child Development Associate Credential to further strengthen her skills in offering developmentally appropriate activities. The learning environment she offers is play based and focused on life skills. She highly values open communication and building a strong partnership with each family.

Testimonials

“Arica is caring and conscientious. I had the honor of helping her open her childcare. She is a joy to get to know and easy to work with. Your children will love being part of her program, spending their day giggling, playing, and learning together.”

Philosophy

In our program, we value a small provider to child ratio which allows the provider to focus on each child’s needs and development. Our program’s approach to learning is play based and casual - learning important skills in a home-like setting. Learning opportunities such as problem solving, teamwork, life skills, STEM, social emotional skills can be gained in everyday activities such as preparing a meal, building with blocks and playing games. Our program works with care and safety to empower children through supporting and encouraging their independence.
