Sheverna Butterfield, Director

Sheverna has extensive experience in early childhood development. For over three decades, she has dedicated her career to nurturing and educating children from infancy through their school years. This encompasses a broad spectrum of developmental stages, requiring a deep understanding of child psychology, learning styles, and individual needs.

Sheverna’s commitment to the field is evidenced by her continued possession of a valid Child Development Associate credential, a testament to her ongoing professional development and dedication to best practices. Her impressive 23-year career with a local school district provided her with invaluable experience in a structured educational environment, allowing her to hone her skills in curriculum development, classroom management, and collaborative work with teachers, parents, and administrators. This long tenure also speaks volumes about her reliability, dedication, and positive impact on the children and community she served. Her retirement from the district marks a new chapter, but her passion for child development remains unwavering.

Our program focuses on the whole child, offering a developmentally appropriate learning environment that enhances communication, social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in children in our care. A delightful three-mile drive away lies the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum, a fantastic option for a fun and educational experience.You can easily incorporate a trip to the museum into your schedule, making it a truly memorable day for the entire family.
