Our Teachers

Hello, I’m Izzy! I am a mom to a one year old boy and I love working with children! I have experience watching children from ages 0 all the way to 12 and love them all! I am very attentive, love snuggling babies, and I love encouraging children’s growth with fun science projects or cool history books. I enjoy hiking, gardening, and cooking from scratch. I graduated from Colgate University in 2017. I have been married for six years and my husband is a teacher. Please reach out with any questions or to schedule a tour!

Philosophy

I believe that plenty of outside time and nutritious unprocessed food is essential to the health of children. Rather than letting children use tvs, ipads or computers to entertain themselves, instead my philosophy is to encourage free play with each other, toys, and nature. I try to instill a sense of responsibility and independence when possible by having children help with tasks that they are old enough to do. I encourage children to pursue their own interests and am happy to help them explore any topic they wish such as art, reading, science, etc.

Location

I am located near M-20 and M-30. I live in a wooded area and have 1.5 acres with a large back yard to play with the children in.

About our program

At my daycare I give children plenty of outside time, play time, and nutritious food. I serve mostly unprocessed and home cooked food and organic or home grown fruits and veggies. I work very hard at avoiding sugar and fake sweeteners and instead occasionally give children treats with maple syrup or honey(if they’re over 1yr). I try to get as much outdoor time as possible with the exception of very cold weather so that young children don’t get too cold. In the spring and summer I will teach children about where their food comes from by letting them help out in my veggie garden. I let children set the pace they wish to learn at and support them in exploring their interests. I have plenty of cognitive toys and fun and educational reading materials to encourage learning. I also provide art projects and will do fun science experiments with kids who are old enough. Parents are welcome to drop in anytime they wish.
