Our Teachers

  • Chavae Kennedy, Director/Owner

Charvae graduated from Baker college in 2016 with her associates in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with Early Head Start for the first 7 years of her career. She has worked in EHS childcare centers as well as one of their family child care home partnerships. She began working from home virtually tutoring for HeyTutor after having her first child. She enjoyed tutoring the children in small groups and one on one sessions. She wanted to remain raising her son and helping children after her tutoring contract ended, so she became an enrollment consultant for Stide (K12) When her son became 14 months she returned back into the field. She received an offer as a director at a childcare center and held that position the last 3 years for two different childcare centers. While working as a director at her second center she was also dual employed as the GSRP associate teacher. She loves children and loves to watch them grow. Working with so many programs over the years helped her realize her dream of wanting to open her own family childcare center. She noticed that children flourished much better in smaller class size settings and wanted to recreate that kind of learning environment. Ms.Charvae is super excited to watch her students grow and prepare for grade school.

Philosophy

At Graceful Learning, we believe every child is capable, unique, and full of potential. That’s why we create a caring, inclusive environment where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful hands-on experiences. Our approach is primarily child-led, with thoughtful guidance and activities from our teachers to support each child’s growth and development.
We focus on small group sizes to ensure each child receives the individual attention they deserve. Our teachers work closely with families, offering resources and support as children grow not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and creatively.
We see every child as a future leader—whether a doctor, artist, teacher, inventor, or anything they dream to be. Our goal is to help children become self-aware, confident, and independent learners in a diverse and welcoming community.

Location

We are located in a quaint nature field town of Harper woods. We are inside of a single family home with a gated yard. We have multiple nearby schools that offer public playgrounds. We are conveniently located near several bus routes just a few blocks away as well as Hwy i94 Moross on ramp.
