Our Teachers

My name is Ms.Brock , and caring for children has always been at the heart of who I am. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping to raise children from all walks of life — from infants taking their very first steps, to school-age kids discovering their independence, to children with special needs who require extra patience, understanding, and love. Each child I’ve cared for has taught me something new about resilience, creativity, and the joy of learning.

I come from a long line of educators, and teaching has always been in my blood. Growing up surrounded by teachers and mentors inspired me to create a child care program that combines structure, learning, and play in a nurturing home environment. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

At Umbrella of Learning Child Care, my philosophy is simple: provide children with an environment filled with learning, laughter, and care — a place where they can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. I strive to partner closely with families, building strong relationships that ensure each child has the foundation they need for lifelong success.

Whether your child needs a safe place to explore, a guiding hand through their early development, or specialized support, I am dedicated to meeting them where they are and helping them thrive — all under one umbrella.

Philosophy

At Umbrella of Learning Child Care, we believe every child deserves a safe, loving, and engaging environment where they can grow at their own pace. Our philosophy is built on three core values: Learning, Laughter, and Care.

We know children learn best through hands-on experiences, play, and exploration. That’s why we provide a balance of structured learning activities and free play that encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence. We celebrate each child’s unique strengths while supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Coming from a strong background of educators, we see teaching as more than academics — it’s about helping children develop the confidence, compassion, and skills they’ll carry into the future. We also believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. By building strong partnerships with parents, we create a supportive community where children feel secure, valued, and excited to learn.

At Umbrella of Learning, every child is welcomed, every family is respected, and every milestone is celebrated — all under one umbrella.

Location

Umbrella of Learning Child Care is located in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood in the Mt. Morris/Flint area. Our home is tucked away from heavy traffic, creating a safe and peaceful environment for children to learn and play.

Within walking distance, there’s a beautiful community park where children can enjoy outdoor play, nature walks, and fresh air on sunny days. The area is surrounded by friendly neighbors and offers a calm atmosphere that parents can feel good about.

Our location allows for easy access to major roads for commuting families, while still giving children the security of a close-knit, residential setting. We’ve designed our space to feel like a second home — welcoming, safe, and filled with opportunities for exploration both indoors and out.
