Linda Zaldivar
I am a recently retired teacher following a successful 20-year career in Virginia public schools. While teaching I derived great satisfaction from teaching Spanish to both beginning and advanced students. I served as chair for the Spanish department and helped to develop curriculum that increased the pace of learning for language students. Part of my success may be ascribed to authenticity. I am originally from Latin America and I know the hispanic culture extremely well. I have traveled extensively and taught in El Salvador, Honduras, as well as the United States
One of the joys of my life was to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This experience allowed me to learn a lot about what high school students need to be successful in their future. When it came time to consider partial retirement, I developed some ideas about how to apply what I had learned to very young children. My method, which can be described as teaching through play, has the potential to equip children ages 2 months to 5 years with everything they need to succeed in kindergarten. My method increases the capacity for learning across all developmental domains: physical, cognitive, emotional, language, and social development.
I am excited to work with this age group who typically are able to soak up huge amounts of information while having fun.
I am certified by Maryland Credentials and Maryland Excels.

Philosophy
I believe in the value of human diversity and the fair treatment of all people. It is my number one goal to provide the kind of environment and the kind of influences that encourage all children (including children under IFSP/IEP Plans) to become creative, independent, responsible, well rounded, self-directed adults who can make decisions for themselves. My desire is for excellence in meeting the needs of children and their families for nurturing, growth and development, relationships and understanding. My values and beliefs about children are deeply rooted in the history of Early Childhood Education

About our program
Bun Bun Bunny Wonderschool aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young children who will be successful in the school environment. To this end, I have developed a fun and challenging program, where children can strive according to their needs. Thus, the learning experiences help them develop socially, creatively, emotionally, physically and intellectually.
I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can express their individuality, while providing them with a variety of experiences and enhance their development.
