Hello! I am Hilda De Luyo, the founder of My Six Butterflies. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 5 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy
At My Six Butterflies, we believe that by providing children with a space that feels like home, they will be able to truly thrive. Our space is filled with materials and activities that are developmentally appropriate for young children and foster conversation in both English and Spanish, cultivating each child’s language skills. We strive each day to meet the unique needs of all children. Our commitment to our little ones can be found in our comforting and safe environment.
Location
My Six Butterflies is located in a warm, inviting single family home in Randolph.
Manipulatives
Dramatic Play Area
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At My Six Butterflies, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.
About our program
Children are sponges, and access to high quality educational experiences before the age of 5 are shown to have the biggest impact on language acquisition. No matter what language your child speaks at home, they will grow comfortable with both of the languages used here with enough time in our program. Language is how children connect with people, build relationships, and increase self-esteem.
Cognitive benefits of bilingual and language immersion early care:
- Children who attend bilingual preschool have a better ability to monitor their immediate environment compared to monolinguals. They exhibit more mental flexibility and a stronger ability to switch between tasks (also known as ‘working memory’)
- Children who attend bilingual preschool show increased self-regulation skills
- Early and consistent bilingualism has been shown to delay the onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s
- Focus on proficiency in both languages to increase executive functioning, academic success, and lifelong learning
- Language acquisition and proficiency is developed through exploratory lessons, story time, activities, drama, arts and crafts, cooking activities, and much more
- Children and teachers converse, share experiences, and recognize that language and conversations are central
- Play-based learning in a rich learning environment that incorporates children’s ideas and interests, offers a variety of open-ended experiences, and utilizes indoor and outdoor areas to facilitate play and learning
- Each child’s individual needs and interests are recognized to offer meaningful and nurturing interactions
You can learn more about the benefits of language immersion for young learners on the Wonderschool blog.
