Our Teachers
I am Mrs. Wheaton and I teach students to S.O.A.R. (Stewardship, Overcoming Obstacles, Academic Excellence, and Responsibility)! I have a special affinity for teaching Kindergarten through second grade students. Since teaching with the Indianapolis Public Schools and Washington Township, I have become very experienced in classroom management, implementing routines and procedures, and commanding student attention. I possess a natural giftedness for building rapport and relationships with others. Beyond my passion for teaching, I am a lifelong learner that seeks excellence in all I pursue.
Philosophy
Our mission is to give students a sure foundation based on faith in Jesus Christ and prepare them to be world changers by S.O.A.R.-ing! Stewardship, Overcoming Obstacles, Academic Excellence, and Responsibility
EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY Our educational philosophy is adapted from a quote from John B Watson. “The end of education is to know God and the laws and purposes of his universe, and to reconcile one’s life with these laws. The first aim of a good school is not to teach books, but the meaning and purpose of life. Hard study and the learning of books are only a means to this end. We develop power, courage, and determination and we go out to achieve truth, wisdom, and justice. If we do not come to this, the cost of schooling is wasted.”
