Our Teachers

Molly Thomas, the heart and soul of Happy Kids Child Care, holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and has over ten years of experience in the field. Her passion for the Reggio Emilia approach stems from her belief in the importance of a child-centered learning environment. Molly is known for her warm, inclusive leadership style and her commitment to fostering a diverse and nurturing space for children to explore and grow. She is deeply involved in the Stamford community, often collaborating with local organizations to enrich the childcare experience. Molly has recently hired three additional teachers to support in caring for the Happy Kids, each with extensive experience teaching and caring for young children.

Philosophy

At Happy Kids Child Care, our program style is deeply rooted in the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach, emphasizing respect, exploration, and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment. We believe that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and learning style, and our curriculum is designed to be flexible and responsive to their needs.

Key Aspects of Our Program Style:

Child-Centered Learning: Our curriculum is not one-size-fits-all; instead, it evolves based on the interests and inquiries of the children. This approach fosters a love for learning and encourages children to be active participants in their education.

Collaboration and Community: We view parents, teachers, and the broader Stamford community as integral partners in the educational journey. Regular communication, community involvement, and family engagement events are cornerstones of our program.

Environment as the Third Teacher: Our center is thoughtfully designed to be a stimulating and safe space that encourages exploration. From nature-inspired play areas to creative art stations, every corner of Happy Kids Child Care is an opportunity for learning.

Inclusivity and Diversity: We celebrate and embrace the diverse backgrounds of our children and families. Cultural awareness and inclusivity are woven into the fabric of our daily activities and curriculum.

Emphasis on Social-Emotional Development: Alongside cognitive growth, we place a strong emphasis on the social and emotional development of each child. Activities are designed to foster empathy, resilience, and self-expression.

Experiential and Play-Based Learning: We believe in the power of play as a fundamental learning tool. Our program includes a mix of guided activities and free play, allowing children to explore, imagine, and learn in a natural and enjoyable way.

By choosing Happy Kids Child Care, parents can expect a nurturing, dynamic, and inclusive environment where their children can thrive and grow into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals.
