Our Teachers

Hello! I am DeeDee Overton, the founder of Tumbleweed childcare. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 25 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy

At Tumbleweed childcare, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

Location

Tumbleweed childcare is located in a welcoming, inviting single family home in the Turnberry meadow neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Tumbleweed childcare, I want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

About our program

My philosophy is to promote a happy, educational and safe environment for your child. My door is always open to parents and I am available anytime. I will provide literacy along with fun and educational activities for your children.
