Our Teachers

Hello! I am Pauly Flores, the founder of Flores Family Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program two years ago because I wanted to serve my community by providing high-quality child care. I am passionate about caring for children, and before starting my program I was a foster parent for years. I have my Child Development Teachers Permit, and 8 years of experience working with young children.

Hola! Soy Pauly Flores, la fundadora de Flores Family Wonderschool. Hace dos años me inspiré para comenzar mi propio programa porque quería servir a mi comunidad brindando cuidado infantil de alta calidad. Me apasiona cuidar a los niños, y antes de comenzar mi programa fui padre adoptivo durante años. Tengo mi Child Development Teachers Permit y 8 años de experiencia trabajando con niños pequeños.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Flores Family Childcare is to give care and love to each child with respect and dignity, regardless of race, we include children with various abilities or disabilities, as we believe it is extremely important all children feel welcome and equally accepted.

La filosofia de flores family child care es dar el cuidado y amor a cada nino y que debe ser tratado con respeto y dignidad, sin importar raza, fomentamos la inclusion total con ninos con diversas habilidades o discapacidades, como tambien es importante que se sientan pertencidos y aceptados igualmente.

Location

Flores Family Wonderschool is located in a warm and welcoming single family home on a cul-de-sac in the Sylmar neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

We have so much dedicated space for children to explore inside and outside. Inside, we have two rooms where children do art, prepare meals in a beautiful play kitchen, perform puppet shows with a real stage, and read quietly. Outside, we have a shady covered area with more dramatic play and sensory tables, and we often dine al fresco! Additionally, we have a separate, shaded grassy area protected by trees and vines where children can run around. It feels like a forest in our back yard!

About our program

Flores Family Childcare is a play based program.

With babies 0-2 years old, we sing, dance, exercise, move and count! During meals, we talk about what we are eating and what color our fruits and vegetables are. We play peek-a-boo with puppets and go over the names of animals. Also, everyday we read books to expose the children to different stories and make them laugh!

With children 2-5 years old, we create games to encourage physical, mental and social development, such as such as playing with blocks and building things as a group. We learn the colors and the names of all the fruits and also cook to show the children the different textures and flavors of various fruits and vegetables. We color and paint to promote exposure to art and dance, jump, and play ball to help the children’s physical development.

Each activity is aimed to help the needs of each individual child.

At Flores Family Child Care we believe in children and work hard everyday to create a place where children can develop and have a bright future!

Nosotros creemos que los ninos aprenden por medio del juego.

Con los bebes de 0-2 anos les cantamos, bailamos, se les haze ejercicio moviendo manos y piernas contando del uno al diez, al momento de comer contamos las cucharadas y platicamos lo que estan comiendo y de que color es la fruta o verdura, jugamos peek a boo, con marionetas de animalitos y decimos los nombres, leemos los libros haciendo que el nino se deleite se divierta y se ria.

Con los ninos 2-5 anos hacemos juegos que se puedan desarrollar fisica, mental y que puedan socialisar, como jugar con blocks armar un edificio junto o solos, aprendemos los colores y nombres de frutas las partimos y conocemos textura y sabor, coloreamos y pintamos, bailamos, saltamos, cuerda, corremos con pelotas de diferentes colores, se ejercitan y disfrutan apreindiendo, colores, numeros y formas.

Cada actividad va dirigida al aprendisaje de acuerdo a la necesidad del nino

Para Flores Family Child Care los ninos son lo mas importante, desde ya estamos creando su futuro.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
