Our Teachers

Hello! I am Suvarna Shankar, the founder of Tiny tots Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 10 years of experience working with young children.

Testimonials

Ms. Suvarna has been my child’s teacher in Kindergarten during the academic year 2018-2019. Her methods and creative strategies in teaching have been very effective in imparting knowledge to all her students. She used innovative techniques focussed on hands on, simulated learning in a engaging and fun environment that truly helped my child develop critical thinking skills. Her carefully crafted design and art resources helped her students grasp concepts very easily, way more effectively than textbook learning.

Ms Suvarna’s warm and friendly nature also helped in creating an open communication with parents. Throughout the year, she provided us consistent feedback about children’s’ strengths and opportunities and worked effectively with parents to encourage positive behavior. I am a firm believer of parent-teacher communication: when parents and teachers work together effectively, it can significantly impact student’s long-term success.

I can only end this simply by saying THANK YOU Ms. Suvarna and wishing her the very best! —-Madhuri Kamath

Philosophy

At Tiny tots Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps prepare children to thrive in school and the broader world. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

In our program, we provide a professional storyteller from our local library to read stories to children. In addition, we provide first-class home-cooked food with premium ingredients. I believe in creating a facility that is equipped with high-quality toys, art and learning materials, where children feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

Our goal is to provide a home away from home for young people so parents can feel confident their child is getting the best education possible while they are away at work.

Location

Tiny tots Wonderschool is located in a bright, warm townhouse in the Sunnyvale neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth.

At Tiny tots Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

About our program

The highlight of each day is our circle time, where we work with students on foundational skills that help them grow academically and socio-emotionally, then transition in the arts and crafts each day that foster creativity. The happiness that we see in students during this key part of our daily rhythm is the benchmark of our program and sets up each day through lively interactions.

We are passionate about nurturing growth and creativity in young children and helping them prepare for kindergarten. Our aim is to have children socially and emotionally ready for kindergarten through work with conflict resolution, as well as academic and social readiness. We foster learning through play, hands-on experience, science projects, cultural field trips and experiences, and reading and writing readiness.
