Our Teachers
Hello! I am Blanca, the founder and director of Little Geniuses Wonderschool. I started my child care because I love working with children and when I had my son, I wanted to create an environment where I could care for him while also caring for other children in my community. I am originally from Mexico but lived half of my life in San Jose. I have taken courses and received units in early childhood education from the local college. I recently got my associate teacher permit and I am more than happy and prepared to keep doing what I love.

Philosophy
At Little Geniuses, we follow a play-based philosophy. We believe children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. We cater to the individual needs of each child and strive to create an environment where each child feels secure and welcome.
We are constantly observing the children in our care and guiding our activities and themes based on the interests and needs of the children. We seek to help children learn the best way to express their feelings, communicate and play collaboratively with others. Our journal time is an important part of the week where children share with us what’s happening in their lives, how it makes them feel, and what they think about the world around them.
Our goal is to make every child feel like they have a home away from home, where they can grow and learn to the best of their potential!
***PLEASE NOTE: My program is open from 7am to 5:00pm. A full time day is considered any 7-8 hours per day within this window. Extended care is available for an extra charge.***
Location
Located right between 101 and 87 in South San Jose, our program is convenient for any families traveling on either highway to or from work. We have devoted the living space and fenced-in backyard in our single family home to our program, and are proud to serve families from across the South Bay!
About our program
Children and their interests are at the core of our program! Every day we observe how your child interacts with materials, activities, and other students! This helps us guide them through their day and think of new things to do that meet their needs. What they like to do is at the core of our work.
Our Little Geniuses love to show off their creativity. For many of the children in our care, art time is their favorite part of our schedule. We have a separate space where we guide children through activities every day that let them create. Often times, our activities will match the books we’re reading or theme we’re exploring!
Parents know what we’re working on during the day. Each child has a folder where we’ll collect their projects and week’s work. When we send it home, it gives you a chance to see what we’re working on, and we’re constantly giving updates during drop-off or pick-up as needed.
We are a true bilingual program. No matter what language is spoken at home, Little Geniuses gives children a chance to acquire language skills in English and Spanish. We spend time with children speaking in both, so they’re able to grow their understanding and leave able to use either one!
