Hello! I am Mala Srivastava, the founder of Fun N Learn. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I love working with kids and have over 15 years of experience in supporting and nurturing a child’s development. I also have wonderful assistant teachers I work with to help and teach the kids!

We got to know about Mala’s daycare from one of our friends and it was such a great arrangement for my daughter! Mala was willing to help us even on such a short notice. The transition was so seamless for us and our daughter. She came home happy, clean, well fed and well rested on all of the 5 days she was with Mala. Mala provided well rounded meals and we got regular updates about our daughter’s day. Even with our very short time with Mala, I can say that she is a very kind-hearted person and the kids just love her. Mala’s daughter is fantastic with the kids too! If we lived closer, we would have definitely continued with Mala.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for top quality home based care for their child.

Our son had severe eczema (lot better now) plus was just 10 months old when we had to start day care so we were very nervous on leaving him with a complete stranger. But the day we met Mala both me and my husband were pretty sure we had found someone we can trust him with :) and its been a couple of months now since our son has been going there and we have no regrets.

She provides organic food, takes him to the park, they have activities all throughout the day. She tells us what she plans to feed him and updates his daily activities online which we can check anytime. Her kids play with him and he loves them, Its more like a second home for my son rather than a day care.

By Shreekanth 10/18/18: We are very happy with Ms. Mala and her staff. Our son has been at Ms. Mala’s daycare for about 8 months now and we couldn’t be happier. Every day, he goes there happy and comes back happy. His eating habits are excellent and his social skills have improved tremendously during this time. Ms. Mala’s exuberance and energy is reflected on the children there - everybody is always happy! They have very simple and fun curriculum for all ages, which is great. The kiddos participate in nature walks and picnics at the nearby park almost every day.

Our 5 year old daughter goes to ‘after school’ to Ms. Mala’s home also. She provides our daughter a healthy (and yummy) lunch or snack, ensures the homework is being worked on and other learning and art/craft activities. Ms. Mala also seeks constant feedback from parents to improve and receives feedback very well. In summary, we are indeed very fortunate to have found Ms. Mala - both our children genuinely love Ms. Mala and her team; we know they reciprocate it as well.

Jyoti 2/24/17: My daughter went to Mala’s after school daycare.My daughter enjoyed every bit of it. Mala is a hands-on teacher who will take the time with each kid, and improve their writing,reading and Math skills along with their homework. She balances homework and play time very well. Her environment is very safe and not to mention her delicious food and snacks. I will highly recommend her daycare to anyone looking for a nice home-based extended care.

By Rakesh J: Every morning, my almost 2 yr old daughter stands by the door and keeps saying “kool” (School!). She would be very upset if I don’t take her to school in the morning. She waves “bye bye” so enthusiastically to rest of the family. That’s how much my daughter loves going to Mala’s day care. Mala certainly has a passion for working with children and she is also very well organized. Every morning she welcomes the children with so much enthusiasm and joy, that as a parent when you head back to work you feel confident and assured that your child is in good hands. I also love the fact that she creates a WhatsApp group for every kid with their parents and sends pictures every day of the activities that they do.

Mala is particularly good with babies and toddlers. I have seen some day cares let the kids cry.. but Mala would carry them around and make sure they eat sufficiently. My daughter has certainly become very vocal, has picked up so much of vocabulary and some really good dance moves! in the one month she has gone there. The kids go for a nature walk or to the nearby park every day and they also get to do many activities. I’m very glad we found Mala and would say that of the different day cares that I have visited and multitude of nannies we have had, Mala stands out as a gem. I would strongly recommend her for your child.

By Smita S: Our son LOVES Mala and her daycare! She has been so gentle, warm and yet confident with the kids. It is awesome to see how calm and happy she always is, and she seems to find genuine joy in being with the kids. We love that she does so many fun little outdoor activities - picnics/play in the park, strolls by the creek, and growing caterpillars/butterflies with the kids. There is good structure in the day, but enough fluidity for the kids to be curious, playful and….just kids. Our son has blossomed socially and emotionally in just a few weeks, and we are very happy that he is in such a positive environment. He is often having so much fun that he does not want to go home. Her own kids (older) and helpers are also very good with the children. Would highly recommend her to anyone with little kids!

By Priyanka T: As every parent, I was very anxious and worried when i was looking for a day care for dear my son. I wanted the best for him. I am so happy I found Mala’s day care, she is the best. My son is very happy going to the day care,he never ever cries when i drop him at the day care.

Kid Eating the food is the biggest concern for every parent, At Mala’s we dont have to worry about it at all.

Mala provides very healthy food for the kids and she is a mom herself so she understands the parents, she is like a family now and she is a very good hearted person. I still remember she said “ bache tho baghvan hothe hain” it means (kids are like god). She truly believes that and takes very good care of them.

She updates your kids daily routine like food,Nap, Potty in a spread sheet.

Mala’s day care is super clean and tidy.

She makes kids prepare crafts about christmas, new year, Diwali etc and they are so cute.

Kids are constantly learning.

She takes pictures of the kids and sends them regularly. We feel very happy when we see them.

I have been sending my son since 6 months. My son eats well and he learnt a lot of good things like cleaniness,rhymes,alphabets and tidying. Anyone would be blessed to get in to Mala’s day care.She has help who are equally friendly and well trained.

By Prena D: When I was looking for a daycare, I wanted someone who could keep our son as healthy and happy as we would. I am thrilled to have found that in Mala. She is a true embodiment of love, warmth and care. My son looks forward to seeing her everyday. In fact, he even asks about his Mala auntie on a weekend :-)

Mala takes care of each baby individually (she has help that makes her focus on each baby’s specific needs). She is a mom herself so she knows how to teach kids - both from educational point of view as well as values. My son feels loved and happy. Mala also provides daily meals and snacks every day. I love that he gets super healthy and nutritious food at the daycare. That was the top most priority for me and I am super happy about it.

Our son constantly rattles off all the names of his friends he has at daycare and how he is soon going to see them! As a parent who has juggled different child care providers, I cannot emphasize how much of a mental load is relieved when you find a gem of a caregiver. Mala is that gem! Thank you Mala!

By Anuja J: Fun N Learn is truly a second home for our daughter. We had to start sending her to daycare at a very early age, when she was just a 5 months old baby. Mala took excellent care and gave her full attention that was needed at such a young age.

I highly appreciate the communication, all the updates about her activities, pictures, and ability to call and even do a quick video chat with my daughter. Until recently she was exclusively breastfed and I had to send fresh and frozen BM for her feeds during the day. Mala handled it very nicely and made it so much easier. She even spent some time learning how to handle BM, how much to heat, how long to keep at room temp. etc before my daughter’s first day. Now Mala provides solids and always checks with us before introducing new food items. She is very accommodating when we have some delay in picking her up.

They have a beautiful backyard and kids enjoy playing there. The place and the owner gives very personal and homely feeling rather then too commercialized day care centers. She engages kids in various activities throughout the day like reading, music, indoor and outdoor play. She also takes them to a nearby park quite often.

Overall we are totally satisfied and happy with our choice. Couldn’t have asked for a better facility and care provider

By Mili J: This is long due!! 5 stars are not enough for Mala. A mother of two herself, she is a pro in taking care of little ones. This is my first experience with daycare and I am so glad, we got to know her. She has that instant connection with kids, the very first time she met my 13 month old, he could connect with her. Very caring, always smiling, provides healthy fresh organic food with lots of options. My son was very picky and difficult eater, but just a couple of months with Mala has changed his eating habits. Her teaching styles are amazing, good project work and the best part is her family. Fun loving and helpful. All the activities, their food intake, are tracked online. We are so happy and thankful to have Mala for my kid.

They take genuinly good care of our baby and we never had to worry thinking about health and well being of our baby while he is in day care. They follow parental instructions seriously and accordingly feed and look after the baby. I would highly recommend everyone for sending their kids. Mala who runs this daycare is quite professional and skilled at dealing with kids. We are lucky to have found her.

By Silpa S: My son went to after-school care at Mala’s place last year, when they were near our school. Mala is a very amazing, loving and competent teacher. Not only did she make sure that my son completed his homework, but also made them do additional math/reading/writing exercises for practice. She has a great backyard where kids play when they are done. She has many board games that kids can play during rainy days. She also loves art and encourages kids to make art projects in free time. Her place is very clean and hygienic. She also makes healthy, scrumptious snacks for kids as well.
I also send my son for Hindi classes at her place. My son has learned all the hindi alphabet and can even write his name in Hindi now (all this in one year!) All credit goes to Mala. I would highly recommend her and “Fun N Learn” After Care!

Philosophy

At Fun N Learn, Ms. Mala makes sure everyone feels like they belong and she makes sure that everyone does their work best to their abilities. We serve organic homemade food, made hot in the kitchen, with fresh and healthy ingredients. Our program allows kids to explore their interests and at the same time stay on task and keep things organized.

Location

Fun N Learn is located in a welcoming, cozy single family home in the Murdock Portal neighborhood.

Our backyard is a great place for kids to play throughout the day! We also take occasional trips to local parks and playgrounds.

At Fun N Learn, I want to provide an environment that supports the encourages kids to play and be well cared for!

About our program

Fun n learn is an STEAM based Hindi-English bilingual daycare. We give every child individual attention, because we believe each child is unique with lots of good qualities. Teaching them day-to-day skills like tying shoes, wearing jackets, going to potty, and eating food with all table manners. We also help them understand basic motor skills like making beautiful art pieces and complex academic wonders like Metamorphosis or 7 continents of the Earth.

Yoga, dance, music, art and craft is part of our daily activities. We love children and keep them safe in a cozy environment.

We believe children are like clay and we are the educators to lead them to the right path. We are there to shape and mold them each into their own beautiful masterpiece. Our environment provides them open paths to grow and develop their special skills. We visit the park every day and our first priority is to make sure each child is having fun while learning.

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
