Our Teachers

Hi there! My name is Maura Alfaro and I have been working in the child care industry for 8 years. It all started when I began working as a nanny and also working at a daycare center. During this time, I realized that I had a passion for working with children and wanted to create a space where children could learn and grow in a bilingual environment.

This led me to open my own Spanish Bilingual family child care center. It has been a rewarding experience watching children learn and develop their skills while also ensuring that they feel comfortable and safe in our care. I believe that a child’s early years are crucial in their development and I am honored to be a part of that process.

I have found that working with children requires patience, understanding, and a willingness to adapt to their needs. Every child is unique and requires a different approach to learning and development. It is my goal to provide individualized attention to each child and to create an environment where they feel valued and supported.

In my eight years of experience in child care, I have learned that communication with parents and families is key. It is important to keep parents informed of their child’s progress and to work collaboratively with them to ensure that their child’s needs are met.

Philosophy

As the founder and head educator of Kidz Sweet Home Daycare, my philosophy centers around creating a warm and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and grow. I firmly believe that children learn best through play, which is why our program is play-based and focuses on hands-on learning experiences.

As a bilingual program, we strive to foster a love for language and culture in our young learners. Through exposure to Spanish and English, children have the opportunity to develop their language skills and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures.

At Kidz Sweet Home Daycare, we value individuality and believe that every child is unique. We work to create a safe and inclusive environment where all children feel welcomed and supported. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the developmental needs and interests of each child, allowing them to explore and learn at their own pace.

Overall, my childcare philosophy is centered around creating a fun, engaging and enriching learning environment where children can thrive. By promoting creativity, curiosity and a love for learning, we hope to instill a lifelong love for education in every child who comes through our doors.

About our program

The program is focused on helping students learn Spanish in a fun and engaging way. One of the things that sets us apart is our love for incorporating art activities into our lessons. We believe that creativity is an important part of learning, and that incorporating art helps students retain information better.

But we don’t just stop there. We also place a strong emphasis on teaching students about the importance of nature, and how vital it is that we take care of our environment. We believe that educating students on this topic is crucial for their development as individuals and members of society.

And that’s not all. As part of our commitment to promoting healthy eating habits, we encourage students to try new vegetables. We believe that by exposing children to a wide variety of healthy foods, we can help them develop a lifelong appreciation for nutritious eating habits.
