Our Teachers

Hello! I am Maiya, the founder of Mimi’s Village. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community.

I am a parent of two toddlers. Through my own experience of choosing a daycare for my daughters, I have learned what I want in a child care program as a parent and what I want to offer as a provider.

I have 12 years of experience working with young children.

We love Mimi's Village. The teachers are so warm and loving, and my son has thrived there. He is so happy to see everyone each day and they are so thoughtful about all the activities for the kids.

Philosophy

At Mimi’s Village, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished.

Children in my program will hear and speak another language in addition to English. We are a bilingual program – daily care and activities will be provided in both Russian and English. Learning a second language at a young age encourages your child’s intellectual and social development.

Location

Mimi’s Village is located in a warm, inviting single family home in the Portola Highlands neighborhood of San Bruno.

We’ve thoughtfully designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses).

Children have outdoor time everyday in my private outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Mimi’s Village, we provide a loving home away from home.
